Voting Questions & Answers:

  • The county mailed ballots to all eligible voters on Friday 10/1.  Most people received their ballots the week of 10/4.

  • It is too late to request a new ballot, but you can vote in person on Election Day in Burgess Park at the Arillaga Family Recreation Center, 700 Alma Street, from 7 am to 8 pm.

  • Vote by Mail ballots must be received by the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division on or before 8 p.m. on Election Day (November 2nd), or be postmarked on or before Election Day and received within 7 days after Election Day.

    If you are worried your ballot will be late, you can drop it at the 24-hour drop boxes available at Menlo Park City Hall (701 Laurel Street) or Menlo Park Boys & Girls Club (401 Pierce Rd), or during business hours at Atherton Town Hall (80 Fair Oaks Ln).

    You can also vote in person on Election Day in Burgess Park at the Arillaga Family Recreation Center, 700 Alma Street, from 7 am to 8 pm.

  • You do not need to pay for postage or place any stamps on the ballot return envelope that comes in the Official Ballot package.  The postage for the ballot return envelope has been paid by the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division.

  • You can vote in person at the San Mateo County Registration and Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm, on weekends (only 10/23-24 and 10/30-31 from 8 am to 5 pm), and on Election Day from 7 am to 8 pm.  

    There will also be in-person voting on Election Day in Burgess Park at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center (Oak Room) at 700 Alma Street in Menlo Park from 7 am to 8 pm.

  • You can receive automated alerts via text message, email, or phone call on the status of your Vote by Mail ballot. Subscribe now to “Where’s My Ballot?” at Wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov to track your ballot.  If you do not subscribe to ”Where’s My Ballot?”, you can still check the status of your ballot at “My Election Info”.
